After a well-deserved summer break, Piknic Électronik is back on August 14, for a second part of the electric season. Thanks to the programming of our collaborators (Aved) Courage, Montrealers’ favourite summer event invites piknic-ers to continue to enjoy the beautiful season at Parc Jean-Drapeau, every Sunday until the beginning of October.
High-energy beats for a fiery mid-season
From August 14 Piknic Électronik continues to delight its piknic-ers for its second part of the season: the Montreal queer collective Island invites DOSS, Syana and Digital Polyglot for the occasion, alongside British underground electronic artist Maya Jane Coles who will be joined by Montrealers Guillaume Michaud and Ian Jackman. On August 20, Piknic Électronik adds an event to its season to mark the release of the second volume of its compilation Planète Piknic: during this additional Piknic, which will exceptionally take place on a Saturday, piknic-ers will be able to find Kora, Wuachuma, Lilya Mandre, Cezaire, Silktits, Thomas White and NoKliché. These artists will all be part of the second volume of Planète Piknic, which can be found from Saturday, August 20 on all streaming and download platforms. This second volume of Planète Piknic is part of Piknic Électronik and (Avec) Courage’s desire to promote the talents of today and tomorrow. Finally, on August 28, Detroit house and techno legend Omar S will perform alongside Regularfantasy and Farren Laen while MUTEK will be invited to Piknic with Debbie Doe and Personal Demons!
Remember that in addition to the regular programming on Sundays, Piknic Électronik offers several evenings in OfF Piknic mode throughout the summer: special evenings, where big names in the electronic scene and artistic collectives will follow one another at the turntables of Parc Jean-Drapeau. In August, festival-goers will be able to find, under this formula, DR. FRESCH on Friday, August 19, who will be accompanied by BIJOU, NOSTALGIX and Montrealers Dave Summit and Michael Sparks for the occasion.
Tickets for the entire regular programming of Piknic Électronik are available on the website of Piknic Électronik. Festival-goers can purchase tickets at a pre-sale rate of $20 now. In addition, in view of the start of the school year and its second part of the season, Piknic Électronik offers a Re-entry Pass at special rates of $59 (student rate) and $79 (regular rate). Mid-season passes are available for sale.
