THE END OF WONDERLAND by Laurence Turcotte-Fraser

An unusual dive into the daily life of a trans artist and fetish icon

In theatres September 9

The End of Wonderland is the debut feature by filmmaker Laurence Turcotte-Fraser. The documentary follows Tara Emory, a veteran performer who has worked independently in the sex industry since the early 2000s. Facing impending eviction from her massive studio, Wonderland, Tara must confront her family’s past of compulsive hoarders, her art, and herself.

Presented as a world premiere at IDFA (Netherlands) and as a Canadian premiere at the RIDM, the film will open in theatres in Quebec on September 9. On the occasion of the release, screening events are organized in the presence of the film’s team.

A very colourful sneak preview will take place on Saturday, September 3 at 8 p.m. at Café Cléopâtre in Montreal, the place where filmmaker Laurence Turcotte-Fraser met for the first time protagonist Tara Emory, who will both be present for the occasion. The screening of The End of Wonderland will be followed by the world premiere of the film Up Uranus directed by Tara Emory. This event is organized as part of the Montreal Fetish Weekend.
