The duo ODESZA will mark the history of music this summer with their new tour in support of their most recent album, The Last Goodbye (released on July 22), which will stop in large amphitheatres, and it should be noted that few electronic music artists have staged a tour of this magnitude. The tour will also be not only carbon neutral, but carbon-negative, thanks to a partnership with the environmental non-profit organization. REVERB makes concerts more environmentally sustainable and encourages fans to take action for the planet and its people.
Renowned for their legendary shows, the GRAMMY-nominated duo is back with an all-new audiovisual production as part of their most important tour to date, with Sylvan Esso as a special guest, as well as a rotation of opening parts by artists such as San Holo, Elderbrook, Ben Böhmer (Live) and Foreign Family Collective acts: Ford., Gilligan Moss and NASAYA.
Upon its release, The Last Goodbye ranked second on the Best Dance/Electronic Albums chart and number eleven on the Billboard 200, as well as second on the Best Vinyl Albums, Third on Best Independent Albums, Third on Current Album Bestsellers, and Third on Best Album Sales. On August 4, ODESZA released its new music video for the album’s flagship track, ” Love Letter (feat. The Knocks )”, featuring Bridgerton star Simone Ashley and Yuji Okumoto (Cobra Kai star) in a format that is more like a short film than a music video.
The album was not only well received by fans but also by critics. The Associated Press wrote that “ODESZA is back and is more experimental than ever.”, Billboard mentioned that the album is ” filled with lush soundscapes, grandiose moments and productions as complex as they are moving.”, and Pitchfork stated that ” Knight and Mills have found themselves in their most introspective state, just as they are more ready than ever to make noise on stage.”
