SUNDAYS AT PARC JEAN-DRAPEAU
As the return to work and school is upon us, Piknic Électronik has not said his last word: Montrealers favourite summer event invites festival-goers to celebrate the return to school to the sound of the best beats thanks to the programming of (Avec) Courage! In September, Misstress Barbara, Tinlicker, CRi and Boys Noize will be at the helm of the Videotron and Boisé stages. In addition, determined to fight against the blues of the revival, Piknic Électronik adds an additional Piknic to its programming in collaboration with Igloofest and sees its end of season extended by one week to end on October 9.
A BACK-TO-SCHOOL SEASON FULL OF BEATS FOR PIKNIC ÉLECTRONIK
Summer continues until October thanks to Piknic Électronik. The traditional collaboration with the MEG festival and the mythical set of Misstress Barbara on September 4 will allow the start of the month of September to overflow with music. On the same day, Alex Pycke, Berlin-based Peruvian producer and composer Sofia Kourtesis, Devo B and DJ Frog will also be at the party. The next day, Monday, September 5, festival-goers will be able to celebrate Labor Day with dignity at Parc Jean-Drapeau in the company of artists from the English label. Anjunadeep such as Tinlicker and the Montrealer Sync, or with the progressive and melodic house of Hyunji-A. On the Boisé stage, you will find RAW, the techno of Sara Landry, the futuristic sound of BXTR, Raumm (Live) and finally Xaviera. On September 11, German DJ Boys Noize will be on the turntables accompanied by Detroit electro current size Jensen Interceptor, in addition to Mayday, Sweely, Ēmikkē and Mok T. CRi will honour Piknic Électronik by performing his one and only DJ set of the summer in Montreal, on September 18, alongside yehno, Stacey Sexton, India Jordan, Skesa and Leëf. On September 25, Piknic gives carte blanche to the Parisian collective POSSESSION to animate the second stage with Parfait, AADJA and softcoresoft. Job Jobse and Elias Mazian will complete the program of the day to the sound of their house style and euphoric trance. On October 2, Piknic Électronik will host Polish DJ VTSS, UNIIQU3 and Jelz. For its part, the Montreal collective FrontRite will take control of the Boisé stage with Kris Tin, Unlimited Free Guestlist and Molyness. Finally, to close its 19th season in style, Piknic Électronik is adding an event to its programming in collaboration with Igloofest with none other than the Australian Partiboi69 who will ignite the audience of the Videotron Stage alongside Sally C and Jordan Gardner.
Tickets for the entire regular programming of Piknic Électronik are available on the website of Piknic Électronik. Festival-goers can purchase tickets at a pre-sale rate of $20 now. In addition, in preparation for the start of the school year, Piknic Électronik offers a Back to School Pass at preferential rates of $59 (student rate) and $79 (regular rate) which gives unlimited access to the regular season.
Recall that in addition to the regular programming of Sundays, Piknic Électronik offers several evenings in OfF Piknic mode: special evenings, where big names of the electronic scene and artistic collectives follow one another at the turntables of Parc Jean-Drapeau. In September and October, festival-goers will be treated to an exceptional program with Dillon Francis (September 2), Fatboy Slim (September 3), Bonobo (September 10), Bonobo (September 10), All Day I Dream (September 17), Richie Hawtin (September 24) and ARTBAT (October 8).
