Today begins La grande rentrée du Quartier latin, the back-to-school event, which takes place on September 8, 9 and 10 on Saint-Denis Street, between Sainte-Catherine East and Sherbrooke Streets. This ambitious and completely free first edition is an initiative and production of the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership and the Société de développement commercial (SDC) du Quartier latin in collaboration with the Université du Québec à Montréal, the Cégep du Vieux Montréal and the Cinémathèque québécoise. This project is made possible thanks to the financial support of the Government of Quebec and the City of Montreal.
For three days, from noon to evening, La grande rentrée du Quartier latin offers a cultural program for and by students. Nearly a hundred students from the Université du Québec à Montréal, the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, Concordia University and the Cégep du Vieux-Montréal will present dance, improv and short films. In addition, there are musical shows, circus performances, an exhibition and travelling entertainment. Join the party, because it’s going to move in the Latin Quarter!
STARTING TONIGHT, IT’S TIME TO PARTY!
It is at the Jardins Gamelin from 6 p.m., that opens La grande rentrée du Quartier Latin with The party of the big back-to-school season. The next day is The Nocturne of the Latin Quarter on the night of September 9 to 10 and The Grand Jam of the new school year on September 10!
