Belgian ensemble Ô-Celli on tour in Quebec
The eight cello virtuosos invite you to a spellbinding
journey through time and styles

After a successful tour of British Columbia three years ago, Ô-Celli will cross the Atlantic again this October with stops in several Quebec cities.

This year’s tour was originally planned for 2020 to coincide with the release of “The Sunnyside of Ô-Celli”. During the pandemic, the octet did not remain inactive and is back for this 2022 tour with an additional album released last June: “Ô-Celli in America”.

Ô-Celli is the unique vibration of the cello which, multiplied by eight, gives a cathedral-like dimension to the works arranged and revisited by the Belgian ensemble. The ensemble is made up of classically trained musicians who are open to the world and its diversity. The concerts are invitations to travel through time and across stylistic boundaries – from Verdi to Queen, via Strauss and Piazzolla.

Ô-Celli was formed by Sébastien Walnier and Alexandre Beauvoir, who have gathered around them solo cellists who share their passion for their instrument. Since 2011, the year of their first concerts, the Brussels Eight have had one keyword: fun! The pleasure they take together on the roads and stages of Europe and Canada, the pleasure they see in the eyes of the public, and the pleasure they have in continuing to build new projects.

The ensemble, which has four albums to its credit, brings together Alexandre Beauvoir, Jean-Pierre Borboux, Stéphanie Huang, Corinna Lardin, Yoori Lee, Shiho Nishimura, Raphaël Perraud, and Sébastien Walnier, all virtuosos on their instruments.
