The Montreal Comic Arts Festival has announced the creation of the Bédélys Youth Québec award. As Quebec comics are becoming increasingly rich, the time has come to highlight the quality of our youth literature. This new prize will reward a comic book published in Quebec for an audience aged 14 or less, produced by an artist residing in Quebec. It will be accompanied by a $1,000 grant and a unique trophy. The winning comic book will be chosen by a jury made of readers working in the book industry: librarians, booksellers, and other professionals.

Each year the Bédélys Awards recognize the best works in the comics medium from Québec and internationally, featuring comic books with incisive writing and striking artwork.
