This reimagining of the original Walker series features Jared Padalecki from Supernatural in the lead role. He plays Texas Ranger Cordell Walker who has returned to Austin, Texas after the death of his wife. He had been gone one year and is now trying to reconnect with his children and adjust to working with a new partner. The return has not been without its bumps and bruises and he is now convinced that there is something fishy about his wife’s death.

Season two sees Walker even more determined to protect his family while investigating his wife’s death. In his already hectic life, Cordell and his family have got a fight on their hands to save the family ranch.

For those who were fans of the original Chuck Norris/Walker, Texas Ranger series there are some adjustments to be made. This is a different series. It serves no purpose comparing the two. Wipe the past from your memory. this is more of a family drama rather than a police action series.

Like Walker, the series has its own particular rhythm and so it took a bit to get used to that. It seems to have hit its stride in season two. What also takes some adjustment is Padalecki’s way of talking. His character is often either mumbling or stuttering. Might turn some off and certainly takes some getting used to.
