FIKA(S) starts next Monday!

4th edition of the Nordic Festival

From October 17 to 23, 2022 in Montreal

Fika(S), Immersive Festival of Kultur and Scandinavian and Nordic Art, is very pleased to launch the festivities of its 4th edition next Monday in Montreal! This 4th edition will take place from 17 to 23 October in different places around the city, for 7 days of events and activities. From music to cinema, workshops and meetings, the multidisciplinary festival once again this year invites the public to celebrate Nordicity and Scandinavian and Nordic cultures in all their forms.

Thus, from Monday, October 17, festival-goers will be able to attend musical presentations related to Nordic culture. For example the Evening of “Nordic Revivals” with Safia Nolin on Thursday, October 20 at the Phi Center, or the Closing Evening “Scene open to the next generation of Icelandic” with Salome Catherine et Hugar Sunday, October 23 at the Sala Rosa. FIKA(S) will also feature cinema, with a retrospective of Danish silent films (a tribute to Nordisk) at the Cinémathèque québécoise, as well as a program of Scandinavian horror films at the Cinéma public on October 20, 21 and 22. Workshops in embroidery, Jacquard knitting, ceramics and Swedish singing will also be offered in different locations throughout the city. In addition, several literary and musical talks will be open to the public, such as with Icelandic writer Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir at the Gallimard bookstore on October 21, or during a panel on the place of women in the music industry: Regards croisés Québec/Nordic and Scandinavian countries, on October 19 at the Phi Centre.
