The Festival du nouveau cinéma de Montréal has announced the winners of its 51st edition.
– INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION – FEATURE FILMS
The jury for the International Competition – Feature Films was composed of Sophie BÉDARD MARCOTTE, Olivier BERTRAND and Mario FORTIN.

AFTERSUN by Charlotte Wells
Acting Award
Best actor or actress in a feature film of the competition

Daniel Langlois Innovation Award
Recognizes a work that stands out for its daring aesthetics, creative use of new technologies, and/or groundbreaking treatment of a sensitive subject matter

Best Feature Film of the Competition ($1,000 cash from FNC and $15,000 in equipment rental and post-production services awarded by Post-Moderne)

The jury of FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Press) was composed of Rachel HO and Robert HORTON.
International Critics’ Award

2012/IN THE HEART by Rodrigue Jean and Arnaud Valade
The winners were all presented with a she-wolf created by sculptor Pierre Dupras.
The Festival du nouveau cinéma will be back next year for its 52nd edition which will take place from October 4 to 15, 2023.
