The founders of the Festival international grand écran (FIGE) unveil their ambitious project whose first edition will be held from September 14th to 21st, 2023 simultaneously in fourteen cities of the Province of Quebec: Belœil, Chicoutimi, Drummondville, Gatineau, Granby, Joliette, Montréal, Québec, Sainte-Adèle, Sorel-Tracy, Saint-Hyacinthe, Terrebonne, Trois-Rivières, and Valleyfield.

This will be a unique opportunity to offer to the cities a world-class film festival exclusively on the big screen with movies from all over the world and to provide festivalgoers from all regions with a common cinematographic feeling.

A program of some forty films from all continents will be presented, highlighting local films, which will be showcased. Red Carpet events will be held in theatres that are willing to offer them, thus allowing all regions of Quebec to live the same experience.

FIGE will bring together famous personalities from the international film industry as part of its prestigious jury and will award the FLEURS DE LYS prizes to the winners of the various categories.

Guests, all artisans of the 7th Art, will be available live across the province for Q&A periods following the screenings in front of an audience in one of the cities and via videoconference for the others.

In addition to the indoor screenings, and with the approval of the municipalities, festivalgoers will have the pleasure of attending outdoor screenings of classic films for a symbolic cost of $1 per spectator. In order to support the Quebec communities in which it will be present, FIGE is committed to donating every dollar received from indoor and outdoor tickets to the Variety Quebec Foundation to positively transform the life of an underprivileged child in the community where the funds are raised. This way, festivalgoers will enjoy themselves while helping those around them! The more they attend the screenings, the more they will express their solidarity!
