The Tournée Québec Cinéma has announced that it will be back on the road to promote Quebec cinema across the country for its 2022-2023 season! The Tour will continue to be involved with Francophone communities by enriching the cultural offerings of many Canadian cities and enhancing the programming of existing festivals. The first stops of the season will be in Winnipeg as part of the Cinémental festival from October 21 to 30, in Orleans as part of the Objectif Cinéma Desjardins festival on November 2 and 3 and in Toronto as part of the Cinéfranco festival on November 10.
“After two years of mostly virtual activities, we are extremely happy and excited to be launching a new edition of the Tournée Québec Cinéma in person! Our events across Canada allow thousands of Francophones and Francophiles to discover the richness and diversity of our films, and to interact with artists of remarkable intelligence and generosity. We are very much looking forward to reconnecting with Franco-Canadian film lovers around our rich and unique national cinematography,” said Sylvie Quenneville, Executive Director of Québec Cinéma.
A DOZEN FILMS AND DISTINGUISHED GUESTS
Once again, the Tour team will be accompanied by renowned guests who will share their passion and knowledge with festivalgoers. They will share their passion and knowledge with festivalgoers. In Winnipeg, filmmakers Ivan Grbovic and Sarah Fortin will take part in virtual Q&A sessions on October 21 and 22 to talk about their films The Drunken Birds and Nouveau-Québec respectively. The following weekend, actor Guy Thauvette will be on hand to answer questions from filmgoers following the screening of Norbourg on October 28, and director Julien Knafo will also be on hand to discuss his film Brain Freeze on October 30.
In Orléans, filmmaker, screenwriter and actor Guillaume Lambert will discuss his latest film Niagara on November 3. Screenwriter Catherine Léger will accompany the film Babysitter a Orléans on November 2 and in Toronto on November 10!
