In an inspiring story of years spent overcoming obstacles, the odds have always been stacked against Vic Santoro. Born in Cameroon and effectively exiled to London alone as an 8-year-old and falling into a life of crime from a young age. After spending 11 years in prison, Vic turned his life around, acting in BAFTA-award winning ‘Gun No.6’ as well as Blue Story. Voice of the Village tells Vic’s inspirational story of becoming a leader in his community and representing other people’s voices through his platform. Talking about the upcoming project, he added: “‘Voice Of The Village’ is about giving voices to the people from my community who feel that they are not being heard, I feel like I’m a representation for individuals from those environments. The intention is to demonstrate that there are no ceilings to dreams – especially when you’re a believer.” Including a wide variety of features including Tiny Boost, Clue, RA, Nayme and King, Voice of the Village is a wider representation of artists than just Vic himself. Constantly working to elevate other artists, Vic will be launching a record label ‘Glory Days Records’ in 2023. Voice of the Village serves as a layup for what to expect from the upcoming project. Voice of the Village arrives after his acclaimed Glory Days mixtapes, a trio of releases made up of some of the 100+ songs he has recorded over the past few years. The trilogy was followed by Vic’s Glory Days Deluxe Mixtape, which rounded up all the tracks from the three mixtapes as well as additional bonus tracks. Not stopping there, he ended 2021 with a headline show at O2 Academy Islington where he put on an incredible performance that contextualized the progress he has made over the last few years, against all odds. 2022 has seen Vic continue his journey of pushing boundaries, with moments like supporting Rick Ross at O2 Academy Brixton, performing at The Great Escape Festival and educating young people on digital currencies by giving out free NFTs.
