The 28th edition of the CINEMANIA Francophone Film Festival continues in Montreal until Sunday, November 13. Over the next few days, festival-goers will be able to discover several long-awaited Quebec titles, including Au Nord D’Albany by Marianne Farley, LA SWITCH by Michel Kandinsky and Rodeo by Joëlle Desjardins Paquette. While many international guests will arrive in Montreal to meet and speak with the audience at the screenings.
Three Quebec films premiering in the coming days:
The week begins with the presentation, on Monday, November 7 at 6 p.m. at the Imperial Cinema, of the family drama with a thriller and road movie flavour, Au Nord d’ALBANY, Marianne Farley’s first feature film starring Céline Bonnier and Zeneb Blanchet. Then, on Tuesday, November 8 at 8 p.m. still at the Imperial Cinema, it will be Joëlle Desjardins‘ turn to present RODÉO, her first feature film imbued with poetry, starring Maxime Le Flaguais and Lilou Roy-Lanouette. On Wednesday, November 9 at 6 p.m. at the Imperial Cinema, festival-goers will meet Michel Kandinsky’s La SWITCH team, led by François Arnaud, Sophie Desmarais and Roch Castonguay and revealing another face of Franco-Ontarian communities.
Guests expected in Montreal this week
Many renowned European guests will arrive in Montreal this week to present their films: Arnaud Desplechin will present his two most recent films TROMPERIE and FRÈRE ET SOEUR; Emmanuel Mouret will accompany CHRONIQUE D’UNE LIAISON PASSAGÈRE; ON SOURIT POUR LA PHOTO by François Uzan and irreducible by Jérôme Commandeur will be presented by actress Pascale Arbillot; L’ORIGINE DU MAL will be presented by its director Sébastien Marnier; Belgian director Lukas Dhont will accompany his film CLOSE; COULEURS DE L’INCENDIE will be screened in the presence of its director Clovis Cornillac, while STOP WITH YOUR LIES will be presented by director Olivier Peyon and actor Guillaume de Tonquédec.
Filmmaker Cédric Klapisch will be in Montreal as co-chair of the Visages de la Francophonie jury and author Philippe Besson will be present as a member of the same jury.
