The film TORI ET LOKITA, directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, will be released this Friday. Premiered in Canada at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma on October 10, TORI ET LOKITA will be released theatrically in Quebec on November 11, 2022.
Today in Belgium, a young boy and a teenager who came alone from Africa oppose their invincible friendship to the difficult conditions of their exile.
Recipient of the 75th Anniversary Prize at the Cannes Film Festival last May, TORI ET LOKITA is the twelfth dramatic feature film by the Dardenne brothers, who are part of the circle of rare directors to have won the Palme d’Or twice with Rosetta ( 1999) and L’Enfant (2005). With TORI ET LOKITA, the filmmakers sought to create empathy, humanity and uniqueness around young migrants, swept away by the waves of an unjust and violent situation in our exploitative society.
