DITA VON TEESE TO PRESENT THE WORLD’S LARGEST BURLESQUE SHOW, GLAMONATRIX, IN THEATRES ACROSS NORTH AMERICA IN 2023

Dita Von Teese announced that she will present the world’s largest burlesque show, Glamonatrix, in North America in 2023. Produced by Live Nation, the 21-show tour will kick off on January 7, 2023 in Seattle, WA, at the Paramount Theatre, followed by stops in San Francisco, New Orleans, New York and several other cities, including a special Valentine’s Day performance at the Chicago Theatre. The tour will visit three cities in Texas as well as Dita’s home state of Michigan, before concluding in Riverside, CA, at the Fox Performing Arts Center on February 24.

Dita’s burlesque show continues to break records, establishing itself as the largest and most sumptuous burlesque show of all time. After a tour of 41 overseas shows in historic theatres such as the London Palladium, the Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo, the Folies Bergère and the Vienna Burgtheatre, Dita is delighted to present Glamonatrix across the United States and Canada. The Glamonatrix tour is produced and directed by Dita Von Teese, and sponsored by Sweet Gwendoline French Gin and Lashify.com, the inventor of DIY eyelash extensions.

“Burlesque has always been a way to gain more confidence in myself, breaking the taboo around stripping through fantastic acts, and encouraging others to embrace their own sensuality. Seduction is the art of creating mystery, and the new Glamonatrix show celebrates uncompromising sensual power with a fun touch of fetishism,” says Von Teese. “It’s fortunate for me that burlesque now symbolizes a celebration of beauty and sensuality in all its forms, with a diversity of icons taking to the stage and inspiring others. I am very proud to be part of the modern burlesque movement and I am grateful to be able to tour with artists who are changing people’s perception of striptease

Glamonatrix is an entire evening of humour and stripping celebrating beauty, diversity and individuality. This is not a conventional burlesque show, but rather a revised and improved version of the variety shows of the 1940s, which Dita makes more inspiring and joyful than ever. The latter has also always innovated by surrounding itself with multifaceted artists, as many women as men and people with fluid gender from all over the world. The result is an inclusive, body positive and festive event.

Von Teese embodies modern burlesque, and his exciting world-renowned shows attract fans from all over the world as well as major celebrities, contributing to a total of more than one million tickets sold. The unprecedented quality of Von Teese’s productions makes her the model to follow in the world of modern burlesque.

This variety show includes new extravagant numbers from Dita and the other artists, with costumes created by Jenny Packham, Mister Pearl, Alexis Mabille, Catherine D’Lish and many others. Shoe lovers will be amazed by Christian Louboutin’s fetish shoes, some of which are currently on display in Monaco as part of the “Louboutin – L’Exhibition(iste)” exhibition.

The Glamonatrix show features the biggest names in burlesque, including the legendary Dirty Martini. Dita’s chic Vontoutage and choreographer Alek Palinski are back, as is fan favourite Zelia Rose, who stars in Hamilton, Australia. Dita is also pleased to welcome newcomer Lana Kai Fox, as well as Tosca Rivola and Laszlo Major. Jonny McGovern of “Hey Qween!” and “Go-Go for the Gold” is again the host, by popular demand. In select cities, Dita will be joined on stage by special guests, including three-time dance champion Umario Diallo, who will accompany Dita on a steamy Latin dance number.
