Greetings from the heart of Ottawa’s vibrant music scene! We’re thrilled to announce the kickoff of the 30th edition of Blues Fest, a celebration of music and community set against the stunning backdrop of the Canadian War Museum at LeBreton Flats. Spanning two weekends, from July 4th to July 14th, this year promises to be the most memorable yet.
Thursday’s festivities on the Main Stage were nothing short of spectacular. We were treated to unforgettable performances by Funeral Lakes, Tokyo Police Club (on their farewell concert tour), the charismatic Orville Peck, and the dynamic Mother Mother. Each artist brought their unique flair, creating an atmosphere of pure musical magic.
The festival grounds were abuzz with joy as music enthusiasts soaked in the sounds from the top-notch P.A. system (a big shout-out to our incredible Sound Crew!). Despite a bit of drizzle, attendees enjoyed sampling an array of delectable dishes and refreshing beverages from the diverse lineup of vendors.
Reflecting on the festival’s evolution, we’ve heard some buzz about the direction of the lineup. The Blues Fest embraces diversity in almost all music genres—from Rap to Disco, Country to Rock ‘n Roll, and of course, the beloved Blues. It’s all about discovering something new and letting the music move you.
Stay tuned as we bring you more updates in the days ahead, including concise concert reviews, captivating photos, and set-lists that capture the essence of each performance.
Join us as we continue to celebrate the power of music and community at Ottawa’s premier Blues Fest. Let’s make this 30th anniversary edition one to remember!
