In “Despicable Me 4,” Gru (Steve Carell) and Lucy (Kristen Wiig) are now juggling the challenges of parenthood as they raise their spirited and mischievous baby son, Gru Jr. However, their family dynamic faces chaos when the notorious supervillain Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell) escapes alongside his cunning partner, Valentina (Sofia Vergara), threatening their lives once again. The movie is brimming with slapstick comedy, playful insults, and a generous dose of Minion mischief, including cheeky glimpses of Minion antics, pranks, and potty humor that will have young audiences giggling.

The film also features amusing performances from Stephen Colbert and Chloe Fineman, who lend their voices to the wealthy neighbors, portraying snobby parents of their own scheming teenager, Poppy (Joey King), who has her own devious plans.

Though “Despicable Me 4” doesn’t push the boundaries of the franchise, it remains a lively, entertaining ride that keeps fans young and old engaged. The animation is as vibrant as ever, especially in 4K.   Gru Jr. steals the spotlight with his cuteness, and the Minions deliver nonstop laughs. It may not be a cinematic masterpiece, but the film’s humor, especially for its younger audience, makes it a fun watch—and sometimes, that’s enough.
