Oktoecho has passionately shared the depth of Inuit culture with audiences through innovative compositions since 2010. Their latest project, Saimaniq Sivumut—which translates to “Peace towards the future”—is a stunning celebration of this rich heritage. This album beautifully merges traditional elements from katajjaq, Inuit drumming, and Ayaya singing with a diverse array of global influences, creating a truly unique musical experience.
Saimaniq Sivumut takes listeners on an evocative journey through sound, intertwining the mesmerizing tones of Inuit throat singing and hand drumming with the dynamic rhythms of Arab music, the delicate melodies of Japanese and Irish flutes, and modern electronic sounds.
